Mondiacult 2025
European Illustrators forum about the impact of generative IA on diversity, authorship rights, sustainability, mental health and economy.
The European Illustrators Forum met in Madrid on 15 and 16 September to prepare for Mondiacult 2025. To discuss the threats posed by generative AI images to creators rights and its ethical impact on society. The international board members from all over Europe discussed the crisis in the creative sector caused by generative AI, exploitation, and loss of diversity. There is concern about the mental health of illustrators and the need to work together to find solutions for a sustainable future for people and planet.
MONDIACULT 2025 is a UNESCO conference organized by Spain, focusing on cultural policies and sustainable development. It aims to assess progress since the MONDIACULT Declaration, which established key cultural rights, and to advocate for a dedicated cultural goal. Key objectives include enhancing international collaboration, addressing challenges in cultural policies, and engaging diverse stakeholders. The conference will cover six main themes, including cultural rights and digital technologies, alongside two focus areas: culture for peace and artificial intelligence.
