Ivo Milazzo started his career as a comics artist in 1971; three years later he created KEN PARKER, a Western character with text by Giancarlo Berardi. In the following years they worked together on TIKI, WELCOME TO SPRINGVILLE, A MAN FROM PHILIPPINES, MARVIN, TOM’S BAR and GIULI BAI.Then in 2004, he drew RED MASTER by Francesco Artibani for French publisher Humanoides Associes, painted 15 watercolours to be hanged on the walls of the great and humble priest Don Oreste Benzi’s church in Rimini, in 2007 was issued THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF BADEN- POWELL (text by P.Fizzarotti) for Boy-Scouts centenary, and in 2010 the graphic-novel UOMO FABER (text by by F. Calzia), dedicated to Fabrizio De Andre’ and ITALIAN STORIES (text by F. Artibani) for the 150th anniversary of the Italian unification. In early 2014 readers will find in bookstores the graphic-novel A DRAKE LIKE A CLOUD created by Milazzo with text by Ettore Scola, the famous movie-director.
Since 1998 Milazzo is fighting together with artists, script-writers, intellectuals, lawyers, politicians, associations and simple fan readers for an amendment to the Italian Law on copyrights related to Animators and Comics Authors. Since 2011 he is the President of AI, the Italian Illustrators Association.
